Frequently Asked Questions

We welcome your questions about having a Cheese cake or Cheese Buffet at your wedding or event.   Here are a few of our frequently asked questions which may give you an immediate answer.  Feel free to contact us for more information.

What is the difference between the options?

The DIY option includes:

This is your economical option and includes, Cheese rounds (individually packaged) with instructions on storage and setup.  Your cheeses must be collected from our premises in Sundowner, Johannesburg.

The Complete option includes:

Cheese rounds, decorations (fruit and/or flowers), base plate to display your cheesecake, together with accompaniments for all your guests including: breads, crackers and preserves.

How do you know, how much cheese to supply?

We recommend approximately 100 grams per person. If you’re having 50 guests a 5kg cheese cake is recommended or if you are having 100 guests a 10 kilogram cheese cake is recommended.

Should you be having accompaniments such as breads and crackers then you can cater slightly less than 100g per person.

What happens to the cake after it's cut?

What you do with your cake is up to you! We recommend that your cake is served with tea and coffee during the reception What is left over can be packed up and sent home at the end of the event.

What is the best way to decorate your cheese cake?

It’s all a matter of preference, Cheese cakes look stunning decorated with fresh fruit, flowers, ribbons, raffia and foliage.  You can separate layers with smaller cheeses, cake stands or simply stack! We supply, free of charge, ideas and pictures of example cakes for decoration ideas.

How to store your cheese (DIY option)
